The Gold Update

We decided to call this the Gold update because it was soo so hard to come up with it.  We know it must have seemed all quiet on the surface here with lack of news and all, but we're totally ducking this.  Ducking as in we are all calm and majestic on the surface, but paddling furiously underneath to keep up.  Pretty sure lots of people can relate to this.  (But we found a little time to go to the beach, take shots and post them here to illustrate what a 2-inch tall person would do with our toys). 

What are we keeping up with?  First of all, the incredible outpouring of your support:  almost 5 times over our goal, over 1,200 cars pledged for and 500-plus backers and counting with 24 Hours to go.  

And let's not forget our February special edition Drifter, which we just finished shipping for this very weekend.  An epic product for sure, but boy the effort to carry two campaigns at once was unprecedented for us.  It did however,  make for a nice beach toy gathering.  And we had kids and grown-ups swarming our little impromptu shoot.

On this Gold side of things, we are really excited for our quick, KS-invited campaign, our gosh darned second one this year!  We launched 4 products that otherwise wouldn't have seen the green light of production for quite some time, kicked more production into high gear and finally released our Airstream Camper, something we've been for a good opportunity to share with you. 

And, as always we did it all here on Kickstarter, with you, our cheerleading and moral support crowd being the first to know.  

We thank you for that. 

On the technical news side:  

• Moulds for the Airstream Camper are done, with first sawdust shell shots due in about a week.  We did see preliminary ones and they looked good, so no reason to expect the final finished ones will be any different.  So that's a relief, as the mould was a long lead item that we released a few days before campaign launch, once we knew we're doing this. 
• Silver paint for this guy is still being researched, the issue being the "lightness" of it all.  We want it to be really bright, more silver, polished aluminum, rather than gray silver which apparently a lot of paints are tending to look like.  All while they stay safe, kid proof and water solvent based. 
• Pins, metal arms, wheels, tires, etc are all in stock, so no issues there. 
• The Gold on the Legend should be coming to us as a final sample the following week; we'll be sure to post those pics right here. 
• The Ghost is a whole other deal.  The wrap around is not easy to pull as a screenprint, which we did anticipate.  Stay tuned, we have some ideas. 
• The woodie poses zero difficulties.  Veneer, paint, magnets are all a beaten path we've been down before.  Production to be released in about 7 days as final samples arrive. 

In a quick gist, that's about it.  We are thankful for your amazing support, and as you can see mass production prep is well under way.  We'll keep you all posted right here as soon as samples are in hand!

But all good things come to an end, including our campaign, so please let everyone else know about this last Monday - final chance to grab these.
